Tactical Urban Gears (TUG) is a new online t-shirt label based in sunny Singapore. They are all about being young and urban with a focus on graphic and design. TUG draw inspiration from Japanese sensibilities and aim to remain current and relevant by also drawing influence from art, music, movies, the streets, etc.
Currently TUG have a line called the Hirobot series which features two characters namely Hiro, a ninja-in-training and his badass cat sidekick, Ono. Hiro is three heads shorter than the rest of his human peers, but he makes up for his shortcomings by working extra hard. He has a tender heart which makes it easy for his partner Ono to take advantage of him.

Ono, is Hiro’s partner, but he is not contented to be relegated to the title of sidekick, which is why he is always giving Hiro a hard time. He is sly and has a mean streak though he has a weakness for strawberry milk. Hiro and Ono are constantly at each other’s throat.

The characters are designed by Tactical Urban Gears (TUG) founder Alex Teh. He is a former 3-D animator with a passion for art. It is his desire for artistic freedom combined with his love for character design that spurred him to create Hirobot and express them through clothing as a medium.
