I Like Characters is celebrating it’s 1st birthday this month with a revamped, new look site; full of hundreds of your character submissions, along with 12 exclusive interviews with the likes of Gavin Strange, 64 Colors and Ben The Illustrator.
As much as I would like to say something profound about character art in today’s culture, I find it easier to simply say – I like characters. I am a collector of things, and ILikeCharacters.com allows me to indulge myself! As soon as I schedule blog posts for the coming month, my inbox soon fills back up with new character submissions! The more the merrier! If anything, I am much grateful for how people have really embraced the site and made it their own. The site has becoming really popular real quick – all you have to do is Google character art and boom there it is!

Hello all.
Would you believe that I actually considered closing down this website (for about 10 minutes)? Luckilly, I came to my senses with a bit of helpful advice from my friends at SUBvert Magazine.
The reason being is that this website has become so popular that my e-mail inbox is literally going to burst! And I was concerned that I would not be able to keep up the blog posts, as some of you may know that I am pretty busy as it is.
But ultimately, character art is my passion, and I love this website, and I am so glad that this site has allowed others to share their much loved character designs. But I have made a few changes in order to make sure that all runs smoothly. Firstly, I have simplified the design, and you will notice a new logo (above). That one will stay. Secondly, I have stopped accepting e-mail submissions (for now!). And thirdly, I will be scheduling my blog posts well in advance, unless of course I get some breaking character art news, which I will post straight away.
New characters will appear from January 4th onwards, and there will also be an exclusive interview with fellow Boys Who Draw member, Simon Corry. He will be sharing with us his imaginative and adventurous character creations.
Speaking of Boys Who Draw, it’s my turn to blog over at the Boys Who Draw blog. I will be blogging through January. As of yet, I haven’t got a clue what I will be blogging about, so keep an eye out for rather random blog posts: www.boyswhodraw.com
